Pupil premium

Pupil Premium is additional government funding used to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils. It is provided for pupils who:

  • are eligible for benefits-related free school meals or have been eligible during the previous six years;
  • are looked after by a local authority or were previously looked after;
  • have a parent serving in the armed forces or meet the service pupil criteria.

Families receiving qualifying benefits should register even if their child already receives a universal infant free school meal in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, as registration may enable the school to receive additional funding.

Parents and carers can check their eligibility using the Free School Meals Eligibility Checker or contact the school office for support.

Further information about how NRPS uses the funding and evaluates its impact is available in our Pupil Premium Strategy Statement 2026–27.
